Chiranjeevi taking rest due to illness
Megastar Chiranjeevi is taking rest at his home since 5 days and met his partymen yesterday to discus about current affairs in state.
He met Harirama Jogayya, Talari Manohar, K.Subbarayudu, Vedavyas and MLA Anilkumar.
Chiru criticised government that it stopped functioning and economic condition is state is going down every day.
Government has stopped paying pension to retired employees and salaries to present employees.
He discussed party’s strategy with leaders and asked them to prepare a schedule for his tours to different districts soon.
Chiru gifts son a SUV
It is often said that a father derives real joy from his baby’s success in life. Megastar Chiranjeevi is on cloud nine as his son Ram Charan Tej established himself as a formidable star on his own with his just second film. As Magadheera broke many records in Tollywood and emerged as the biggest blockbuster of all time, Chiranjeevi is content with Ram Charan’s success that he decided to give his son a very special gift. Knowing that Ram Charan loves swanky cars, the dad dearest booked a costly foreign brand SUV.

Always fire fighting
Poor Chiranjeevi is half of the time fire fighting and warding off rumours about split in his party. If this is not the case, then there are talks of merger with the Congress. In a recent turn of events his meeting with CM Rosiah has sparked off rumours that he is in talks with the Congress to merge the PRP with that party.
Tough Chiru is standing on building tops and shouting his guts off that there is no such proposal, and the meeting with the CM was just a routine call, no one, but no one, is willing to listen.

Chiru turned-up at a recent Iftaar party in an all new Arab Sheik's avatar. Obviously his intention was to impress the minority community with his show of affection.
But dear Mr Chiranjeevi, please understand that the Arab attire is not Indian, if the intention was to impress Indian Muslims then you should have worn an Indian attire, like a Sherwani and a Pyjama. Umm, but politics is a different ball game and young Chiru needs to learn a lot!
Craving for visibility
There was a time when Chiranjeevi used to be holed-up in his Jubilee hills banglow and would be inaccessible to the common man. This was the case even after he joined politics. It was one ardours task to meet the star.
But that is not the case anymore, the actor is craving for visibility and publicity and he is now to be seen at marriage functions and temples more frequently. The reason for this change of heart is obvious.
Chiru was recently spotted at the Kanka Durga Temple in Vijayawada along with his family. He greeted all with a pleasant smile and interacted with the media. Indeed he is trying hard for a change of image.

No split in PR, says Chiranjeevi
HYDERABAD: Perturbed over reports of fissures in the Praja Rajyam, PR president K. Chiranjeevi has clarified that there was no scope for a split in the party as all the MLAs and leaders were united.
Mr. Chiranjeevi’s comments showering lavish praise on Chief Minister K. Rosaiah as an able and efficient administrator at Tirumala kicked off a controversy. A section of PR leaders, who supported anointment of Kadapa MP Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy as Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy’s successor to the Chief Minister’s post, reportedly expressed displeasure over the accolades showered on Mr. Rosaiah.
Reacting to reports in a section of media about the imminent split in PR, Mr. Chiranjeevi who is presently in Vijayawada, said he was pained over the “distorted version” of his meeting with Mr. Rosaiah. Asserting that he fulfilled a protocol in meeting Mr. Rosaiah who came to his constituency, he suspected that the twist given to the meeting was “deliberate” and aimed at weakening the PR.
He said the stalemate over the demand for appointment of Mr. Jagan as Chief Minister was Congress’ internal matter and PR had nothing to do with it. On the support extended by a few PR legislators to Mr. Jagan, he said it was “their personal view and not the party stand”. Later in the day, PR spokespersons D. Sravan Kumar and Vasireddy Padma said Mr. Chiranjeevi’s words praising Mr. Rosaiah, a veteran leader with a track record of presenting budget in the Legislative Assembly for 15 times, were not tantamount to “belittling” somebody (Mr. Jagan).
They said the Congress which was unable to come out of the crisis it was facing following Rajasekhara Reddy’s death was trying to indulge in “mudslinging” on other parties to cover up its failures. The PR, they asserted, was concerned about the lull in administration and non-cooperation between the Chief Minister and his Cabinet colleagues that was adversely impacting welfare and development programmes.

According to sources, the shooting of 'Maa Naana Chiranjeevi' is complete. The DTS work seems to be happening for the movie these days.
This family entertainer is being directed by Arun Prasad. Prime star Jagapathi Babu is playing the lead along with Neelima. Child artist master Atulith of 'Thulasi' fame is also playing an important role in this flick.
Hemachandra has composed the music for this movie and the audio is expected to be launched soon.

Chiranjeevi Celebrates Birthday With Family
Hyderabad, Aug 22 (IANS) Four days before he formally launches his political party, Telugu film star and wannabe-politician Chiranjeevi Friday celebrated his 54rd birthday quietly with his family.
After a three-decade-long film career, he proposes to launch Aug 26 his yet unnamed party at a public meeting in the temple town of Tirupati. He announced his entry into politics Sunday, saying he was dedicating his life to serving the people.
Not sure whether he would find time for the family later, the actor preferred to celebrate his birthday at his house in the upmarket Jubilee Hills here. He spent the day with his mother Anjana Devi, wife Surekha and other family members.
In sharp contrast, his supporters and fans celebrated the day with much fanfare.
A large number of them gathered outside his house and at the party office to greet him.
Chiru, as he is popularly known, had appealed to his fans across the state not to reach Hyderabad to greet him and instead take up social work and plant trees in their respective towns and villages.
Responding to his call, fans’ associations organised meals for the poor, health check-up camps, blood donation camps and distributed fruits among patients at various hospitals besides planting trees.
The fans also cut huge cakes, took out processions and organised free screening of some films of the actor.
In Visakhapatnam, Chiranjeevi’s fans cut a 53-kg cake, burst firecrackers and raised slogans hailing his entry into politics.
The celebrations in Vijayawada triggered tension when fans of popular actor Mahesh Babu took exception to the removal of his cut-out by Chiru’s fans. One person was injured in the resulting clash between the two groups.
Mahesh Babu, son of veteran actor and former Congress MP G.S. Krishna, celebrated his birthday earlier this month amid speculations that he would campaign for the ruling Congress party in next year’s elections.
Meanwhile, Chiranjeevi’s fans have stepped up efforts to mobilise huge crowds for the Aug 26 meeting at Tirupati, where the actor would announce the name of his party and its agenda.
Though his fans were expecting that he would launch the party on his birthday, he preferred to do it on the birth anniversary of Mother Teresa, whom he described as his source of inspiration.
Chiru is already engaged in social service and runs a blood and eye bank here and his fans hope to see him as the next chief minister.
He has a huge fan following, comparable to thespian N.T. Rama Rao, who had taken the state politics by storm by floating Telugu Desam Party (TDP) in 1982. NTR had come to power within nine months of launching the party.
Born on Aug 22, 1955 in Mogalturu, a small village in the coastal district of West Godavari in the family of an excise constable, Chiru was christened Konidela Siva Shankara Varaprasad.
After graduating in commerce, he began his film career in 1978 – when he renamed himself Chiranjeevi – and carved out a niche for himself with his image of an action hero. He acted in 147 films and churned several blockbusters including those with social message.
Chiru bagged various awards for his acting, his contribution to Telugu cinema and social service. He was also awarded Padma Bhushan in 2006.
Known to be a sensitive and kind-hearted man, Chiru Thursday admitted a physically challenged person as the first member of his party. ‘I will be the second member,’ he said.

On behalf of cinema industry, Ram Charan Tej, during the function addressed the congregation. The young star during the inspiring speech said, “In present days, talented persons are getting recognized in film industry. Music composer AR Rahman has now attained a global recognition and is making India proud. It reflects audiences matured taste for entertainment and with the 15 years to come, our talents will sure shine bright going places worldwide.”

Bunny is indeed an apt name for someone who is the apple of the eye, center of attention and bubbling with energy. One doesn’t need any introduction to the energetic, livewire performer Allu Arjun. A school going kid would heroworship him, youth simply follow his style, girls swoon and mothers look up to him fondly as they would do to their son. It isn’t really difficult for Bunny to become a part of your family or you with such infectious energy levels. It’s pleasantly surprising to see this star in a simple attire and simpler attitude he wears! He laughs, he blushes, he whines (when you talk of studies) and he gets excited with parties and at the thought of holidays, he listens to you like an obedient school boy, he hangs his head when his mom accuses him about keeping his room unkept…. So many natural facets to one natural actor? Yes, Possible… read on… Were you an academically oriented kid? (Whines and laughs out loud) We started with a wrong question mam! My mom says if Goddess Saraswathi looks at my report card, she would forsake her Veena and knowledge! Jokes apart, I spent the first Eighteen years of my life at Chennai. I went to a very good school that taught me discipline. I wasn’t good at studies, but that is not necessarily the reason why I turned to acting. Subjects like Math and Hindi terrified me whilst French and English fascinated me. I was with Alliance De France for 6 years.
When did you discover that you could act?
I am yet to! I wanted to pursue animation in 2001-02 when I even got an overseas chance. Career choice was a tough thing for me as I wanted to pursue animation. Looking ahead (7 years ago) told me that it would take a lot of struggle and time to make a career in this field in India. Under no circumstances did I want to leave India. Me entering films was a showed a positive future as I already had a strong base laid by my uncle Chiranjeevi garu. I went to acting school at Mumbai. This was when I realized I could emote and carry off any emotion with aplomb. Till then I was just a movie maniac. I gradually metamorphosed into an actor after which Gangotri followed.
What is the bench mark of an actor?
Being able to carry off humour is the first criterion of an actor according to me. Comic roles shouldn’t be viewed as something that can be done easily. Personally I am a happy go lucky person by nature and essaying humorous roles are just an extension of my personality.
What’s the secret behind your immense, palpable energy?
No education is THE secret! Truly, I cannot see myself as anything other than an actor since this the only thing I can do, obviously I will be giving all what I have, not just my best! Apart from this I am a gymnast, I love to dance and cannot sit at a place!
What is your latest venture? When is it slated for release?
I am doing Arya 2, a sequel to Arya. It has new cast. I am with Kajol and Shraddha Das. Its release would be based on Charan’s movie. Since he’s my cousin, we have that understanding. We would have a minimum of 3 month’s gap between our films’ release.
Is the going tough? Do you see each other as competitors?
Certainly not, in fact it’s an easy going as we keep advising and guiding each other constantly.
What’s your dream role?
It keeps changing every time. I want to be Brahmanandam sir when I see Kshemanga Velli Laabhamga Randi; I want to be a Denzel Washington when I watch him. Everything is seasonal with me. But I would like to tell you that at a deeper level there are a few actors whom I always admire, they remain forever, like my uncle, Hollywood’s Arnold Schwarzenegger etc.
So among your favourites there seem to be ‘constants’ and ‘variables’?
Absolutely. I like that! The constants as I just told you are like Sachin Tendulkar in cricket. Many may come and go, but he will be there ever after, like the angels in the fairy tales. When it comes to movies I can’t see any body else at the altar other than my uncle. Coming to my contemporaries, I have seen Maska and I think Ram has done a fabulous job! Gamyam, Yuvatha etc are all excellent films too.
Are you a spiritual person?
I know spirituality can influence me, hence I prefer to stay away! (He gives a bear hug to his mom who just walks in and says “She is my spiritual strength!”) What are your future plans?
I am looking at different ventures like business as life is not all about Cinema. There is more to life other than acting.

Like Hanuman, Raviteja is going to showcase his sense of comic and power in his latest film `Anjaneyulu’. The film was launched at a function at the Ramanaidu Studios in the city on Sunday. Malayali belle Nayantara plays the leading lady. Power star and Yuvarajyam president Pawan Kalyan participated in the film’s pooja while his wife Renu Desai sounded the clap board. VV Vinayak directed the muhurat shot. Parasuram of `Yuvatha’ fame wields the megaphone. Terming `Anjaneyulu’ a family drama , Raviteja said that he was impressed by Parasuram’s novel story telling. While director Parasuram said the film was a good mix of emotions and entertainment.
Taman S is set to score the music. Actor turned producer Ganesh is producing the film under Parameswara Arts banner. Ganesh is also producing a film with Pawan Kalyan in the direction of Puri Jagannath. Regular shoot of the film will start from April 20.

When it comes to movies of noted stars from the same family, the formula is to arrange for a gap between the releases so that the revenue on the movies does not get distributed. But there seems to be a possible hitch that might happen in the case of mega powerstar Ramcharan Teja and stylish star Allu Arjun.
Apparently, both of them are currently busy with their movies and while Charan is arriving with his ‘Magadheera’, Arjun is coming up with the sequel to his blockbuster hit ‘Arya’. Sources say that both movies are getting wrapped up around the same time so this could lead to a clash.
However, the mega family is said to be looking at creating a gap of at least 50 days between both releases so it remains to be seen who will take the first step in this one. Let us hope this is more of a family decision without affecting anyone’s egos so that all will benefit well at the end.

Allu Arjun’s Aarya 2 has been getting shot at rapid pace. The film was supposed to hit screens for this summer. But it got delayed for unknown reasons. It is being said that Aarya2 is the sequel to Allu Arjun’s previous film Aarya, which was a super hit at box office. Sukumar, who directed Aarya, is directing Aarya2. Now the lat4est buzz is that the unit is planning to change the name of the film. If the sources are to be believed this film, may be titled Aakrandana. Chiranjeevi Unhappy With Keeravani
The audio release of ‘Magadheera’ seems to be going through some rough weather. As it is, the reports from the music stores have not been that encouraging as expected for this movie. Some say that only continuous listening would make the audio successful but not an instant winner in first listening. And here is another one to add to it. This is from megastar Chiranjeevi to the music composer M M Keeravani. Chiru was addressing the crowd during the audio release function when he recalled the time of the film ‘Gharana Mogudu’ and its famous song ‘Bangaru Kodi Petta…’. In his regular ‘diplomatic’ style, Chiru stated how he was not very satisfied with the song that was originally churned out by Keeravani before ‘Bangaru Kodi petta’. He said, “Initially Keeravani came up with a song and that was not appealed much for many. Later he reworked and came up with ‘bangaru kodi petta’ that was instantly liked by all. Mani Sharma was the keyboard player for that song at that time”. What is that he wanted to convey? Those who were present in that event felt that Chiru was not too happy with Keeravani then and even now. And he apparently implied that original ‘Bangaru Kodi petta’ was a hit because of Mani Sharma but not Keeravani!! Praja Rajyam chief and Telugu megastar Chiranjeevi has ruled out the possibility of donning the grease paint to make a re-entry into films, stating that he cannot ride two horses at the same time.
Though the actor-turned-politician had indicated the possibility of a comeback during a speech at the audio launch of his son Ram Charan Teja's Magadheera on Sunday, Chiranjeevi, when asked on Monday to elaborate on it further, denied that he had any plans to act in films again. He alleged that his statement had been ‘misinterpreted’.
"When those on the stage publicly express their wish to see me acting again, how can I bluntly decline? I need to be soft in my denial. I have stated time and again that I cannot ride two horses at the same time," he said.
Notably, Chiranjeevi is making a brief onscreen appearance in the upcoming Magadheera, directed by S.S. Rajamouli and produced by Allu Arvind. It is heard that Chiranjeevi will make his much-awaited onscreen presence in a song. Chiranjeevi's last film was Shankardada Zindabad (2007).
Chiranjeevi's close aide quits PRP
Hyderabad (PTI): In a setback to the Praja Rajyam Party Chief Chiranjeevi, his close aid and one of the party founders Putchalapalli Mitra on Saturday quit as the party general secretary.
Mr. Mitra, grandson of the legendary CPI(M) leader Putchalapalli Sundarayya, was one of the key persons behind the launch of Praja Rajyam Party in August last year.
Mr. Mitra met Mr. Chiranjeevi at the PRP office here and formally handed over his resignation letter, thereby bringing an end to months of speculation over his possible exit from the party.
"My role in the party has certainly diminished over the past few months and even in the future I will not be able to contribute much to the party. Hence, I have decided to quit PRP," Mr. Mitra told newsmen. "I will continue to be a well-wisher of the party, he added.
Mr. Mitra was one of the two official spokesmen of PRP since its inception. The other spokesman Parakala Prabhakar had deserted the party ahead of the recent elections to the State Assembly and Lok Sabha while Mr. Mitra continued to occupy the post on the request of Mr. Chiranjeevi.Thursday, July 2, 2009

ENTRY TO THE TELUGU FILM INDUSTRY
Chiranjeevi, the Megastar of Tollywood today, was born on 22nd August of 1955 in Mogalturu, a small village in 'West Godavari' District in Andhra Pradesh to Sri Venkat Rao and Anjana Devi. He grew up in his native village with his grand parents, while his family was elsewhere because of his father's occupation. The sense of discipline and hard work which he still embraces were introduced at a very young age in his life and the tough childhood he had, being the eldest in his family, have helped him to handle many such events of higher proportion with great expertise in the later stages of his life.
Little did he imagine, even in the wildest of his dreams that he would, one day, be a Megastar and rule the Telugu Film Industry. Years later, this youngster, dearly called "Chiru" in the Film Industry, with his hard work and dedication to his profession could make it really big in the field hitting the limelight, with an unparallel fan following emulating his every act, word, dress and dance. What makes this ordinary human being such an extraordinary one - Hardwork and Dedication!
Varaprasad’s education was nomadic accounting to his father Venkat Rao’s frequent transfers to Ongole, Bapatla, Chirala, Nellore etc, which didn’t really defer Vara Prasad as he gained a great friend circle wherever he was. Varaprasad is really fortunate for his father has constantly encouraged him after having discovered the undaunted liking of his son towards cultural activities.
Varaprasad did his schooling in Nidadavolu, Gurajala, Ponnuru, Mangalagiri and Mogalturu. He also won first prize for his first performance as Parandamayya Panthulu. After high school, Varaprasad joined Bi.P.C in P.R.Sharma Jr. College at Ongole. Following that he finished his B.Com from Narasapur college.
After graduation, Varaprasad moved to Madras to seek a career in his chosen field of acting in the Film Industry. To get himself ready for the camera, he joined in a film institute. This was in 1977.
Varaprasad was offered the lead role in the film Punaadi Raallu, produced by Sheikh Abdul Khadir in the direction of Raj Kumar, which has laid the foundation stone to the acting career of Vara Prasad as Chiranjeevi. Even though Punadi Raalu was his first movie, it was Pranam Kareedhu that was his first release. Pranam kareedhu directed by K Vasu was released on September 22nd, 1978. The second movie to release was Manavuri Pandavulu from which Chiranjeevi started gaining recognition as hero among the spectators.

On October 2, 1998, he founded the Chiranjeevi Charitable Trust (CCT), which includes Chiranjeevi Blood and Eye Banks. It is the state's largest recipient of Blood and Eye Donations. The Blood Bank of the CCT helped over 80,000 people and the Eye Bank has helped about 1000 people in the state of Andhra Pradesh since its opening.
So far around 3.5 lakh people have pledged their eyes to CCT so far, giving 1600 people eye sight through CCT. CCT has also won the "Best Voluntary Blood Bank Award" by the AP State Government for the past 4 years.
On June 10, 2006, The President of India, Dr. Abdul Kalam, inaugurated the Chiranjeevi Charitable Foundation (CCF) at the Jubilee Hills Check post in Hyderabad.
Recently chiranjeevi charitable trust has reached one more landmark by crossing the one lakh mark in collecting the blood and more than 96,000 people were helped with blood by this blood bank.

Varaprasad’s education was nomadic accounting to his father Venkat Rao’s frequent transfers to Ongole, Bapatla, Chirala, Nellore etc, which didn’t really defer Vara Prasad as he gained a great friend circle wherever he was. Varaprasad is really fortunate for his father has constantly encouraged him after having discovered the undaunted liking of his son towards cultural activities.
Varaprasad did his schooling in Nidadavolu, Gurajala, Ponnuru, Mangalagiri and Mogalturu. He also won first prize for his first performance as Parandamayya Panthulu. After high school, Varaprasad joined Bi.P.C in P.R.Sharma Jr. College at Ongole. Following that he finished his B.Com from Narasapur college.
After graduation, Varaprasad moved to Madras to seek a career in his chosen field of acting in the Film Industry. To get himself ready for the camera, he joined in a film institute. This was in 1977.

Even though Punadi Raalu was his first movie, it was Pranam Kareedhu that was his first release. Pranam kareedhu directed by K Vasu was released on September 22nd, 1978.
